I captured this shot in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Of all lions in the wild, around 80% are now found in eastern or southern Africa. As is the case across other animal species, numbers have sadly been massively reduced in recent decades due to loss of living space, human wildlife conflict and illegal wildlife trade.
